Golf

With some of the most scenic backdrops in the country, the Cairngorms golf courses are not to be missed!  The National Park has a great choice of 12 courses of both 9 and 18-holes.

In the west of the Park, the 9-hole courses of Carrbridge, Craggan and Abernethy Golf Club have plenty of character and will challenge even the most demanding player. Newtonmore Golf Course is set alongside the fast-flowing River Spey whilst the course at Grantown on Spey has soaring mountains and beautiful woodland as its backdrop. The Boat of Garten Golf Course is as demanding as it is lovely, set against the backdrop of stunning Cairn Gorm, while Kingussie Golf Club offers both stunning views and period charm.
In the east of the Park, the Royal Deeside villages of Ballater and Braemar offer 18-hole courses.  Braemar is the highest 18-hole course in Britain at 1,200 feet above sea-level (the highest 9-hole course is just up the road at Dalmunzie).  The greens are some of the finest in the area and the course will test golfers of any standard.  Ballater golf course lies next to the River Dee and offers stunning views of Lochnagar and a warm welcome in the club house.  Whichever courses you choose, you are assured of a warm welcome and excellent clubhouse facilities. In the south of the Park enjoy a round on Blair Atholl's James Braid designed course with its fair share of surprises despite only being 9 holes.

Clan Macpherson Museum

Started in 1946 by a group of clansmen in Scotland, the CMA now has a world-wide membership, from New Zealand to Sweden, from the United States of America to Borneo, with its traditional heartland being Badenoch in Scotland. Where a country has a sufficient density of membership local branches maintain local contact, but whether a member of a branch or not, we are all part of the Clan Macpherson Association. Branches operate in Australia, Canada, England & Wales, Europe, New Zealand, Scotland & Northern Ireland and the United States of America. Branches have their own pages on this site, and they can be accessed from the menu above.
